You talk. I listen. We define the issue(s) together. We explore feelings and focus (you feel, I guide your focus). I help you take ownership of your focus (tools for awareness, shift and anchoring of emotions).

When you feel good, it changes you. It changes how you react to situations and people, how you get inspiration and become hopeful and feel more energized. I believe you contribute to the world in a better way when you feel good because it is what benefits all of us.

Coaching is not Therapy

One of the most common misconceptions about coaching is that it is just therapy in disguise or worse, therapy from an unlicensed practitioner. In reality, coaching is its own unique service designed to help people meet the outcomes that will bring them success and fulfillment in various areas of life. Here is a quick description of each service to help you decide which one is appropriate for you.


Therapy is a process in which a client works with a healthcare professional to diagnose and resolve problematic beliefs, behaviours, relationship issues, feelings and sometimes physical responses. The idea behind therapy is to focus on past traumas and issues to change self-destructive habits, repair and improve relationships and work through painful feelings. In this sense, therapy focuses on the past and on introspection and analysis, with the hope of resolving past issues and creating a happier, more stable future.


In coaching, a client works with their coach to clarify goals and identify obstacles in order to create action plans to achieve desired results. The process of coaching takes the client’s current starting point as neutral ground and is action-based from that point onward. Coaching is forward-facing and more directive than therapy.

So is coaching or therapy right for me?

Whether you choose to work with a coach or a therapist, both will work to enable you to make positive changes in your life. While therapists diagnose and treat from a healthcare perspective, not all therapy clients are ill; many healthy people seek the services of both therapists and coaches.
